Sapientai (a.k.a. Sapient AI) is a newly formed startup specializing in MLaaS (Machine Learning as a Service) and is based in Austin, TX. Our growing team consists of researchers, developers, and engineers. Sapientai’s expert workforce focuses on high-tech, innovation-driven technologies such as nuclear fusion, brain/human-computer interfaces (BCI/HCI), business intelligence, Edtech, and health care. We currently serve more than five research companies and are in negotiation with other companies looking to expand and lend our services for state-of-art A.I. specialized to customer needs.

Job description

Sapientai is looking for a strongly self-motivated, ambitious candidate with a background in scientific data analysis, machine learning, computational engineering, and/or applied math to join our team. Our team is diverse, highly skilled, innovative, and on a mission to impact specific industries, while maintaining the adaptive and agile core of a fast-moving startup.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for developing, implementing and quickly prototyping primarily ML/AI models that meet our company’s standard of solutions
  • Interact/interface with customers on scientific data interpretation, application/technology details, needs, and for software support
  • Use ML to identify general and/or segmented patterns of data from unique datasets
  • Optimize existing ML codes for previously deployed solutions
  • Adapt state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques
  • Set up infrastucture to deploy services online
  • Prepare report to manager and/ or company

Qualifications

  • PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Neuroscience, or similar technical field
  • Ability to rapidly prototype (e.g., neural network) algorithms
  • Good communicator
  • Ability to work in a team, as well as independently
  • Ability to multitask on multiple projects
  • Fluency in Python with advanced knowledge in machine learning, e.g., Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving skills

Preferred Competencies

  • Experience in plasma physics, fluid dynamics, and/or complex engineered systems
  • Experience in data sciences and data visualization
  • Experience using interpretable ML techniques
  • Experience with causal inference approaches
