£38,000 – £48,000 a year – Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Permanent

Nanovery is on a mission to tackle cancer using smart nanorobots that can be dropped into a patient’s blood sample to signal the presence of disease and enable its timely treatment.

The company is seeking experts in DNA nanotechnology to join our scientific team in building the core pillars of our innovation. We welcome candidates from all strands of DNA nanotechnology, but especially those with a creative bent that would enjoy working in a tight-knit interdisciplinary team.

You will:

Work closely with our existing team of scientists and academic collaborators across a breadth of commercial projects to elevate technical capabilities of our products through:

  • Evaluating and improving existing designs
  • Innovation of new DNA nanotechnologies and creation of patentable IP
  • Modelling design architectures and performing simulation guided sequence selection to improve kinetics and thermodynamics, inform experimental design and to assess feasibility
  • Executing designs in the laboratory, trouble shoot
  • Drawing meaningful conclusions from experimental studies to inform design iterations
  • Reporting and sharing design principles
  • Collaborating with data pipeline developer to integrate processes and utilise experimental data in models

Essential requirements

  • Masters/PhD in DNA Nanotechnology, DNA computing
  • Interest in innovation
  • A strong history of achievement in science, through a PhD, postdoc or industry
  • Team player
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic, eager to learn, with sense of urgency and a flexible attitudeData analysis skills

Desirable requirements

  • Experience in using modelling software (eg. Visual DSD, NUPACK, OxDNA)
  • Basic programming skills
  • Interest in biosensors
  • Research ability demonstrated by journal and conference publications and/or preprints.
  • Able to work autonomously with an interest in collaborative work and sharing knowledge
