We are seeking an experienced Numerical Physicist to join our team of engineers and physicists for our Broomfield, CO location. The ideal candidate will have broad experience in computational approaches to optimizing solutions for a variety of different cryogenic, optical, electrical, mechanical, vacuum, and magnetic applications. To apply directly for this role, please follow this link:


Key Responsibilities:

  • Model physics package cryogenic behavior, trap electrical and thermal behavior, and magnetic field system behavior
  • Apply previous experience to design, analyze, and optimize hardware and software for the worlds most advanced quantum computers
  • Develop new concepts, write project proposals, and communicate ideas and results to fellow team members


  • Masters Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Applicants for employment for this position must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Quantinuum. (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status)


  • PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Expertise in COMSOL, Ansys, or comparable simulation software.
  • 3+ years of experience modeling electrostatic, magnetic, and RF fields from complex physical structures using FEM or BEM solvers
  • Experience modeling a variety of physical processes including mechanical deformation, RF dissipation in bulk materials, thermal conductivity, and properties of materials at cryogenic temperatures
  • Experience related to computational techniques such as convex/non-convex optimization, linear/non-linear/integer programming, statistical learning, genetic algorithms for optimization, and representation theory
  • Experience using cluster or other parallel computing techniques
