MSCI is looking for an exceptional individual to join our multi-asset class research team in Budapest, Hungary. The global team is responsible for research and development of MSCI’s industry-leading asset-pricing models, which span a wide range of financial securities and markets, and which are used by institutional investors managing many trillions USD.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • The new researcher will collaborate with a world-class research team, to develop cutting-edge methodologies combining traditional quantitative methods with financial theory and modern data science techniques to develop innovative new approaches to financial modeling. Key responsibilities are to:
  • Deliver high quality research and solutions to challenging investment problems faced by the investment community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement innovative research ideas and publish research-based contents.

Desired experience and qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in physics, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or another quantitative discipline
  • Practical experience in designing, implementing, and testing quantitative models
  • Experience with Machine Learning methodologies and AI is desired
  • Experience researching and implementing quantitative models. A background in finance or quantitative investment research is desirable but not essential
  • Critical thinking, curiosity and excellent communication skills are essential
  • Ability to perform independent research and collaborate as part of a team
  • Programming skills: object-oriented programming, C++, Python, Matlab
