Job Overview

Company description: SurfPlasma is a Florida incorporated company innovating eco-friendly ways to destroy bio-chemical contaminants for improving the quality of water, air, food, clothing, and surfaces. Role description: We are seeking a R&D Engineer to develop concepts, designs, and details for products, fixtures, and test methods. This position will have responsibilities across plasma solutions including a span of multiple product platforms such as surface sterilizers, water purifiers and air purifiers for the medical device industry, hospitals and clinics and the space industry. This person will be responsible for leading a team focused on designing plasma-based decontamination systems for projects funded by federal agencies including but not limited to NSF and NASA. In addition, efforts will include solicitating grants through proposal writing for future grants and contracts. This person will work closely with plasma physicists, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, bio-engineers and other cross-functional partners (microbiologists and virologists) to accomplish successful project completion. The role provides opportunity to learn about plasma actuation systems and gain research/engineering experience along with leadership experience in an interdisciplinary collaborative research environment.
